Sept. 30/Oct 2: For horizontal translations, be careful! The vertex form of a quadratic is y=(x-p)^2 + q so ... in y=(x-6)^2, p is positive 6! That means the basic quadratic will be translated (moved) 6 units to the right (and not to the left!) What sign does p need to be to translate the graph to the left? Notes from today are here.
